9 CHANGINGMACIDANDBAUDRATE
When you have installed your Bronkhorst meter/controller DeviceNet slave and made right settings for device
configuration and parameter data, you can give your instrument the MAC ID you want. Default instrumentswill be
deliveredwith MAC ID 63.ThisMAC IDhas been agreedbytheDeviceNet organisation to be
freefor installingnew
devicestothebus.ChangingtheMACIDcanbeperformedindifferentways:
9.1 VIAROTARYSWITCHESONTHESIDEOFTHEINSTRUMENT(IFPRESENT).
Onthesideoftheinstrumentarerotaryswitchesplacedandalabel
withtheexplanationoftheswitches.Makesuretouseascrewdriver
whichissuitedfortheswitches.
Theswitcheshavethefollowingfunction:
9.1.1 DATARATE
WiththeDATARATEswitchthebaudrateoftheinstrumentcanbeset.
Datarate BAUDRate
1 125kbps(default)
2 250kbps
5 500kbps
P Programmablemode
IftheswitchissettoPthebaudrateissoftwareprogrammable.
Duringinstrumentinitialisation,the DATA RATE switchisread. If the switch specifiesoneofthe valid datarates,i.e.
125,250,500Kbaud, this val ue is used.Ifthe specifieddataratediffersfromthevalue stored
intheinstrument,the
new data rate is saved in memory. If the switch specifies the programmable mode, the value stored in the
instrument’smemorywillbeusedasthedatarate.
9.1.2 NODEADDRESS(00–63PGM)
WiththeNODEADDRESSswitchtheMACIDcanbeset.TheMSDisthehighpartofthedecimalnumberandtheLSD
thelowpart.Forinstanceaddress25meansMSDon2andLSDon5.Thedefaultaddressis63.
Duringinstrumentinitialisation,thenodeaddress
switchesareread.IftheswitchesspecifyavalidDeviceNetMACID,
i.e.a valuefrom0to63thisvalueisused.IfthespecifiedMACIDdiffersfromthevaluestoredintheinstrument,the
newMACIDissavedinmemory.Iftheswitchesspecifyaninvalid
DeviceNetMACID,i.e.avaluegreaterthan63,the
valuestoredintheinstrument’smemorywillbeusedastheMACID.
IftheaddressissetbytheswitchanditisnotonthePpositiontheinstrumentwillrespondwitherrorstatuscode0E
(Attributenot
settable)ifbysoftwareistriedtochangetheaddress.
